Established in 1987, The National Association of Disabled’s Enterprises (NADE) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment and rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through sustainable livelihood opportunities. NADE was founded with a vision to integrate disabled individuals into the economic mainstream, not through charity, but through skill, dignity, and enterprise.
NADE pioneered the Disabled’s Cooperative Movement in India, promoting self-reliance through employment and self-employment initiatives tailored to various disabilities, including visual impairment, speech and hearing impairments, orthopedic challenges, and intellectual disabilities.
One of NADE’s flagship initiatives is the Nethra Umbrella Project, where individuals with different disabilities work in a coordinated, assembly-line model to produce high-quality umbrellas. This project has become a symbol of productivity, inclusivity, and dignity in labor, while simultaneously creating employment for hundreds of PWDs.
Over the decades, NADE has earned recognition and trust from individuals, corporates, government bodies, and religious trusts for its professionalism, transparency, and deep social impact. Through its latest national-level initiative, Project Unnati, NADE aims to scale its impact across India by setting up an integrated facility that blends training, employment, entrepreneurship development and rehabilitation for PWDs — ultimately touching millions of lives.
NADE continues to work with integrity, commitment, and innovation, creating a future where no disability limits a person's potential to live with independence and dignity.
